Description:

2020 saw the implementation of several game-changing regulations for government contractors. None the least of these were related to DOD’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and Section 889 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019. CMMC is a unifying standard for the implementation of cybersecurity across the defense industrial base, and contractors who ignore it may be prevented from competing for contracts with DOD and, most likely, all federal agencies soon enough. Section 889 prohibits government agencies and government contractors they work with from using or providing certain covered telecommunications equipment or services from Chinese manufacturers. Noncompliance with Section 889 can similarly prevent contractors from competing for work from any federal agency.

Join Cy Alba and Dave Shafer—attorneys in PilieroMazza’s Government Contracts and Cybersecurity & Data Privacy groups—for a webinar on cybersecurity and Section 889 compliance for government contractors. They will cover:

  • Key cybersecurity updates for government contractors;
  • Tips for Section 889 compliance; and
  • Upcoming changes in cybersecurity and data rights regulation.
