The Portland Trail Blazers are asking season ticket holders and other fans with tickets for “patience” as they “navigate ... uncharted waters" in the aftermath of the NBA’s decision to suspend the regular season because of concerns over coronavirus.
In an email sent to season ticket holders late Wednesday night, the team said it was working with the NBA to grasp the scope of the suspension and how it would impact the rest of the season.
The Blazers (29-37), who were clinging to dwindling playoff hopes when the league elected to suspend play, have nine home games left in the regular season. Four were scheduled to take place over the next week and five were scheduled for the final two weeks (between April 2-15).
Here’s a copy of the email sent to season ticket holders:
"Tonight, the NBA has decided to suspend the regular season. We are working diligently with the league to understand what this means for our fans and will provide more information once we have it. Rest assured, our fans continue to be a top priority and your support of our franchise is much appreciated. We will develop a refund policy as soon as we have additional details and communicate them to you. Thank you for your support and patience as we navigate these uncharted waters. We ask for your patience as we continue to assess the impact this will have on the rest of the season.
“We realize you may have questions. For season ticket holders, feel free to reach out to your ticket services representative for all other ticket holders, please email ticketservices@trailblazers.com or call 844-RIP-CITY.”
